Experian Group Limited (EXPN), a leading Irish multinational offering financial analysis and intelligence services to American organizations and consumers, has opened its offices in Santiago. The company, with head offices in Dublin and branches in Costa Mesa, California, and Nottingham, England, employs over 13,000 professionals in 36 countries around the world and supports clients in more than 60 countries.
The Santiago office already employs 300 full-time, bilingual employees and is investing millions of dollars to recruit and train 150 more staff to be incorporated in 2008.
"We would like to thank the Chilean Government for the support granted through CORFO in the execution of this flagship project. Our first service and operations center in Latin America will allow us to offer a global platform to our American clients, and will involve hiring and training close to 450 first-rate professionals and technicians by 2008. Those hired to date have demonstrated excellent quality and work ethic", emphasizes Kerry Williams, President of Experian Americas.
InvestChile, CORFO's Investment Promotion Program, provided information and networking services for the company's evaluation and set-up process in Chile, as well as economic incentives earmarked mainly to human resources training.
Experian chose Chile as the location for its new offices in a thorough selection process that included countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Panama. The company highlighted the attractive business environment, safety, and stability as some of Chile's advantages and cited in particular Santiago's efficient system of services and telecommunications and the fact that the country is five hours ahead of the Pacific Standard Time (PST), with direct connections to the west coast of the United States.
