The country is among the 30 least corrupt countries in the world, among the 180 countries part of the International Transparency 2007 ranking.
New Zealand, Denmark, and Finland top the list of least corrupt countries in Europe, while Uruguay ranks second in Latin America.
As a global issue, fighting corruption requires actions in different fields, says the report. Developing countries should use financial assistance to strengthen their institutions and introduce comprehensive and preventive measures against corruption.
