P&G will consolidate its regional base for beauty, family, and health care products in Chile, moving its current headquarters from Caracas to Santiago. The regional presidency will remain in Venezuela, as well as the detergents and household cleaning products business. The Gillette business headquarters will be relocated to Venezuela from Boston, where it has been based prior to its acquisition by P&G.
The P&G employees who will be working in the new headquarters comment that they "consider Santiago to be a very pleasant, modern city to live in, with good safety standards and infrastructure, well-suited to raising a family. Many of the employees who are coming to Chile have decided to purchase a house thanks to the easy payment terms and availability."
