Capgemini opens financial services center for Latin America in ChilePublished: October 27, 2008
The French services provider Capgemini is now working in Chile thanks to an agreement to manage Unilever's financial services operations for Latin America. Under the terms of this seven-year agreement, the company will manage all of the financial and accounting processes arising from Unilever's Latin American business from Santiago, including certain tax transactions for the Brazilian unit.

"This decision is consistent with Unilever's strategy to prioritize efficiency, reducing complexity and strengthening best practices linked to external providers", said John Bird, SVP Finance & IT, from Unilever Americas.
This merge means that approximately 400 Unilever professionals will transfer to the Capgemini group in order to consolidate its presence in Latin America. "This agreement is an important boost to the company's BPO financial work and our expansion, based on the excellent services we provide. Strengthening our presence in Latin America is part of our strategy to consolidate our global network", comments Hubert Giraud, Director of Capgemini BPO.
