The regional presidency will remain in Venezuela, as well as the detergents and household cleaning products business. The Gillette business headquarters will be relocated to Venezuela from Boston, where it has been based prior to its acquisition by P&G.

Published: May 18, 2007 Experian, a leading supplier of analysis and information services to aid companies and consumers in managing the risk and reward of commercial and financial decisions, will open a services delivery center for the U.S. in Chile. The center, with a capacity for several hundred employees, will focus on IT (software development and application maintenance, database management) and back office services for its U.S. based business.

The index measures the level of danger in each country based on homicide rates as well as other factors determining the safety of companies and foreign executives.

Published: May 18, 2007 Chile ranks first in information technology (IT) over Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, according to the results of the Information Society Indicator (ISI) prepared by the Everis consulting firm and the Universidad de Navarra's School of Business (IESE). This indicator measures the evolution of ITs and the development of key features such as economy, infrastructure, and social aspects.

Published: May 18, 2007 Santiago, Chile is in 88th position among 130 cities according to the Economist Intelligence Unit's latest Worldwide Cost of Living survey. Latin America presents the best value for money overall, accounting for a quarter of the cheapest 30 cities. The region has the cheapest average cost of living. Average prices are less than two thirds the cost of living in New York and none of the cities in the region features in the 50 most expensive destinations.

Published: May 18, 2007 Chile is up one place at 7th position out of 50 countries worldwide in the A.T. Kearney's Global Services Location Index 2007 and second in the Americas after Brazil. Latin American countries are collectively the biggest gainers in this year's Index, with Brazil, Chile and Mexico rising to 5th, 7th and 11th spots. Spurred on by India's success, governments throughout the region have begun to recognize the potential of the export services sector, particularly in the context of providing near-shore support to North America and Iberia.
