Our Industry in Numbers

  • Over 245,000 ha available for farming and production
  • From January to July 2009, the region exported US$3.5 million of refrigerated beef (boneless)
  • In 2006, the region produced 31,853 tons of meat, which represented 13.4% of national production.
  • In 2006, the region slaughtered 129,923 animals, which represented 13.7% of the national amount.
